Day 13: Favorite Quote
Day number thirteen, luck old day number thirteen. If I am being honest I wish that this was actually day number thirty-one, not day number thirteen! It is not that I do not enjoy this challenge but it is harder than I thought, and doubly hard since I have to vlog it as well. However I shall persevere and move on. That is actually a good segue into this the topic for today, favorite quote.My favorite quote actually comes from a very common verse from the bible. The verse that I am speaking of is Philippians 4:13.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
It is a verse that has great meaning to me. Many of the challenges that I have overcome in this life I know were unattainable if I trusted in myself to figure things out. The biggest challenge that I can not take any credit for is the day that I quit smoking. After the millions (exaggeration) of times I tried to quit in my own time and by my own ways I failed. Failed, failed, failed...failed. September 6th of this year will be five years since my last cig, and it was because I gave it up to God and through Christ I was able to overcome. After my last cig I said I am done God, but I can't do it on my own. And that was that.
The running, the hiking, this blog, the YouTube channel...I know that if I remain in Christ He will get through anything. I may not like the outcome but regardless my strength is found in Him. That is why I have a rubber bracelet that reminds me of this verse and my running shirt for those who watch the vlogs, that is what Team 413 is.
I was really happy when I saw today's topic, and I am glad that I could share this with you all. But it is that time to close out this blog piece for today. I look forward to sharing with you again tomorrow, day fourteen!
